If anyone ever wondered what the old adage “actions speak louder than words” really meant, they wouldn’t need to look any further than Michael and Priscilla Sweet, owners of Silver Rose Bakery.
Accountability to do better, to be better, and to make an impact outside of our own small worlds too often falls on no one other than ourselves. When it’s so easy to just let someone else do the work, it's no surprise that the Sweets wanted to do more.
Always finding a way to give back, a global pandemic was no excuse to stop for Michael and Priscilla. When schools were closed during the 2020 Coronavirus (see COVID-19) quarantine and children who would normally receive free lunches would now go hungry, Silver Rose jumped into immediate action, partnering with Child Crisis Arizona. Aiming to feed as many children as possible, Michael and Priscilla raised over $1,000 for food bags and baked goods for local Arizona children, along with donating $1 from each order and giving customers the option to do the same. Then of course, in true Silver Rose style, they topped off their donation with a Sweet Experience, giving the kids and their families cookie decorating kits to have some fun, family bonding while stuck at home.
Positive change starts with positive hearts. Michael and Priscilla are committed to being the change they want to see in their community.
